The assembly consists of:

• "X" Axis for longitudinal positioning
• "Y" Axis for cross positioning
• Punching machine with hydraulic actuation of datum pin, fitted onto the "Y" Axis
• CNC control unit - Fagor 102
• Independent servo motor drive with encoder measurement for "X" and "Y" Axis
• Sliding table for transport of the metal plate
  
  The metal plate is moved in the "X" Axis by 2, 3 or 4 grippers depending on material length.
  

This consist of a compact unit of two slides which move perpendicularly to each other. "X" and "Y" axis use linear bearing slides, for greater accuracy and rigidity - all "X" and "Y" traversing motion by precision ballscrews connected to d.c. servo motors. Encoders for precise positioning are mounted within the d.c. servo motors.
